Coverage
The oracle has to be near-perfect, at a cost the harness can pay — Stockfish-ish. Prefer an existing engine and avoid games that don't have established engines.
Popularity
Most people should already know the game. Super popular games that have been used for AI benchmarks a lot like Chess should not be used, though.
